5 Tips for taking care of your watch

1 Use a soft cloth to clean your watch.

Clean your watch case and strap on a regular basis to keep it in good working order. If your watch is not waterproof, wipe the case and strap with a dry, soft polishing cloth to remove any excess dirt. If your watch is water resistant, clean it with a damp cloth. If you want to know if your watch is waterproof or not, check out our waterproof watch blog.

2 Avoid coming into contact with chemicals.

Chemicals such as soap, detergents, cosmetics, and perfumes can damage your watch case or strap. Wear your watch after your creams or perfume have completely dried on your skin. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can also cause fading on the watch, so avoid prolonged contact with the sun.

If your watch strap is irreparably damaged, you can easily replace it without purchasing a new watch. For your information, MISTER MINIT carries over 200 different watch straps.

3 Maintain your watch on a regular basis.

A mechanical watch should ideally be serviced every two years, while quartz watches should be serviced every three years. Replace a dead battery as soon as possible to avoid leakage, which can cause serious damage to your watch.

But keep in mind...

Never ever open your watch on your own!

Your watch is made up of many individual components that have been meticulously designed. It is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It certainly merits a great deal of attention. When you open your watch, you expose it to dust, dirt, and other particles that can enter the mechanism. It may also have an effect on your watch's water resistance.

This is best left to our trained MISTER MINIT specialists in our shops or at our central watch repair center.

4 Avoid scuffs.

It's only a matter of time before you notice scratches on your watch's glass or strap. Remove your watch during activities that could cause scratches to avoid this.

Also, avoid wearing multiple bracelets on the same wrist. Wrist jewelry may scratch the sides or glass of your watch.

Also, don't let your watch fall to the ground! In addition to potential scratches, an unexpected impact could damage the crystal, case, and internal components.

5 Maintain proper watch storage

Be sure to properly keep your watch when not wearing it.

Watch Box Storage

Use the original box and packaging or store it in a box with your other watches to prevent humidity and dust.

To prevent wear from friction while putting watches in a watch box, ensure sure they are stored apart from one another. Additionally, avoid storing your timepieces face down.

It's probably time to embark on a new adventure with a brand-new watch now that you're prepared to take good care of your watch. In the MISTER MINIT store closest to you, you may find a variety of timepieces for every price range.
